Rules for Hot Wheels Competition

 

Hot Wheels is a knockout competition ie speed – the fastest car to the line.  Judges decision final.

 

The Intent of the competition is similar to Rocker Cover racing – to have fun!

 

 

The Track : 35 feet long.  Set at approximately 30 degrees.

 

Car Type : Matchbox or similar.  All makes acceptable including rat rods

 

Vehicle Criteria : Max Wheel Base         3 inches

                            Max Wheel Track       1 ½ inches

                            Max Wheel Diameter ½ inch

                            Minimum Wheels       4

                            Max car height           1 ½ inches

                            Max Car Weight         3 ounces (80 grams)

 

 

Propulsion  : Gravity.  No other assisted propulsion allowed

 

All vehicles will be scrutinised by event officials prior to racing.

 

Note - speed and stability are crucial to downhill racing.
